Festival of Champions

On Saturday, October 2, LAXC competed in the Festival of Champions meet held at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast. A total of 1,190 runners from Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont competed in this year's meet which included boys and girls seeded, unseeded, and freshman races. Team standings were determined by merging the results from each race.

The Lincoln girls placed 19th out of 49 scoring teams with 523 points. This was the strongest showing ever for a Lincoln girls team which has only finished in the top half of all teams on one other occasion. The boys team placed 22nd out of 55 teams with 687 points. This is the highest placement of a Lincoln boys team prior to 2016. From 2016 to 2019, Lincoln boys team placed in the top 10 with its best finish, 5th place, coming in 2016.

Despite tricky course conditions, 22 of 40 team members who ran on Saturday achieved personal best times. Official race results can be found online here.
