On Thursday, October 28 Lincoln Academy Cross Country (LAXC) competed in the Second Seven meet hosted by Edward Little High School at the Auburn Middle School. The meet is intended for runners not competing at the regional or state meet as part of their teams' top seven and is the last race of the season for these runners. The course is relatively flat though the presence of a number of shoe sucking bogs means that personal best times are not easily gotten. Still, 12 of the 23 LAXCers who competed achieved a season and/or personal best on the day. Both Alison Roberts and Jordan Anderson recorded the largest improvements to their personal bests while running much of the race without left shoes that were lost in one of the aforementioned bogs.
Showing its depth as a team, both Lincoln boys and girls squads came out on top in the team competition. Lincoln's girls recorded 21 points to Mt. Blue's 37 points who competed virtually, running the course earlier in the week in the pouring rain and submitting their times. Lincoln's boys came out on top with 37 points followed by Mt. Ararat (47), Edward Little (66), and Mt. Blue (77). Individual results including first mile splits are below.
